According to the Mirror newspaper American rockers Kings of Leon are urging their frontman Caleb Followill to check into rehab over his “dark demon”.
The news comes just 24 hours after the band announced they were cancelling the remainder of their US tour.
A source close to the band claimed: “They are trying to get him into rehab. It's a dark demon he has been fighting for a while.”
Speaking to USmagazine.com the source continued to say: “They are trying to get Caleb to go to rehab. It is mostly for alcohol. That’s why they ended up cancelling the whole tour."
Caleb walked off stage halfway through the Kings of Leon live set on Friday, telling the crowd that he was too hot to perform.
He said: “I’m gonna go backstage and I’m gonna vomit. I’m gonna drink a beer and I’m gonna come back out here.”
However the singer, who married model Lily Aldridge earlier this year, failed to reappear on stage.
Yesterday, Caleb broke his silence on the issue, stating: “I’m just trying to get better.”
