American rockers Kings of Leon have cancelled the remainder of their US tour but insist they're not breaking up.
"We are so sorry to say that the cancellation is due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion," a rep for the group said yesterday in a statement. "The band is devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break."
"Unfortunately, the US dates cannot be rescheduled due to the band's international tour schedule."
This comes three days after Caleb angered fans in Dallas, Texas, by abruptly walking out mid-concert due to "heat exhaustion and dehydration".
A string of tweets by the band after Friday night's disastrous performance hinted at growing disharmony in the group.
Jared Followill wrote, "there are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed. [sic]"
After the announcement was made that the tour would be cancelled, Followill then added: "Utterly depressed. It's completely out of my hands. Family has to come 1st. If bass solos & backing vocals were more popular, I'd be there. [sic]"
He added thanks to family and friends and cautioned fans not to jump to conclusions: "We're not breaking up."
