Following Mila Kunis's YouTube invite, actress Scarlett Johansson has also been invited to the Marine Corps Ball.
The Iron Man 2 star is the sixth celebrity to be asked to the November event. In a YouTube video, Sergeant Dustin L Williams tells the newly-divorced actress that he would be thrilled if she would accompany him to the ball.
"It would be my pleasure to take you to the Marine Corps Ball and spend an evening with you," Williams said in his plea to the actress.
In an email, Williams told Zap2it that Johansson's acceptance would mean a lot, not just to him, but to the entire Marine Corps.
"It would truly be not only for me but also my fellow marines," Williams said. "Not only does it show their support for our troops, but it also boosts the morale of marines as a whole."
He went on to say that he is confident Johansson will not turn him down without a reason.
"I would not believe the invitation would be denied without good cause," Williams said. "With her current career I would imagine Scarlett Johansson is a busy woman... Nothing ventured, nothing gained."
Friends with Benefits actress Mila Kunis was the first to be invited to the Marine Corps Ball, with co-star Justin Timberlake making sure she accepted.
At a press conference for their new movie, the Black Swan actress was asked if she knew about the invitation and Timberlake, who was on hand, said he'd made sure it would happen.
"Have you seen this? Have you heard about this?" he asked her. "You need to do it for your country!
"I'm going to work on this, man," Timberlake said in a message directed to Sgt. Moore. "This needs to go down!"
Kunis then replied, "I'll go. I'll do it for you," Kunis said, before asking Timberlake if he was going to attend as well.
"They don't want me!" he exclaimed. "They want you."
Kunis then confirmed, "I'll do it."
Since then, Betty White, Paul Walker and Miley Cyrus have also been invited to attend the event
