TV and radio personality Chris Evans has had several growths removed that are linked to colon cancer, the same disease from which his father died.
Evans, 45, headed straight to the hospital yesterday after his morning radio show for a colonoscopy where the pre-cancerous growths were discovered and removed. His father Martin died of the disease when Evans was just 13-years-old.
He told The Sun after the procedure: “A couple of pesky potential future little problems were discovered and swiftly removed, but other than that I'm afraid you're stuck with me for a few years longer at least.”
He also urged anybody who was worried to follow in his footsteps and get checked. He said: “If you or anyone you know may have any worries down below, get them checked as soon as possible. This type of enemy is one hundred per cent beatable - providing you don't give it chance to fire the first shot."
