Jesse James and Kat Von D have called off their engagement and broken up.
In an interview with People, James said, "I'm so sad because I really love her."
"The distance between us was just too much."
The couple, who were set to marry this year, got together following James's messy divorce from Sandra Bullock.
But the commute between Los Angeles, where Von D, 29, shoots her reality show, and James's home outside of Austin, Texas, where he lives with his three kids, proved to be too much for the couple.

Von D confirmed the split on Twitter saying: "I am no longer w Jesse, and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I'd like to share. Thanks for respecting that. [sic]"
James was dumped by Hollywood star Sandra Bullock amid claims he had cheated on her multiple times with other women.
