Dannii Minogue and Myleene Klass have reportedly been dropped as the faces of Marks & Spencer.

The pair, along with Twiggy and Lisa Snowdon, have both appeared in a number of adverts for the retailer, but it is now being claimed that the celebrities are alienating older customers with their youthful and sexy looks.

It is believed that M&S will now drop all celebrities as ambassadors of their brand from now on, in a bid to lure back older customers.

According to the Daily Star, a source said: "It's going to be back to basics from now on. They want more of the focus to be on the clothes, not who's wearing them."

"Thanks to those adverts more women in their late 20s and early 30s have been shopping in M&S. Axing these glam adverts is bold but could backfire by driving the new generation of customers away."
