Ozzy's son wants to be a cop

It's a fair cop, son!

Reality TV star Jack Osbourne - son of rocker Ozzy – has said that he would like to become a full-time police officer.

In a report in the Daily Mail the 25-year-old recovering alcoholic revealed his interest following his time as a reserve police officer for the 2006 reality TV show, Armed and Famous.

For the duration of the TV series the former Hollywood wild child trained in the small town of Muncie, Indiana and regularly returned to the force. Last month, following a drugs bust that he was part of, Osbourne tweeted: "This was a lot of fun" and Jack and Ozzy donated a £5,000 police dog (called Ozzy!) to the force.

Muncie police sergeant, Jay Turner, confirmed that their latest volunteer was a regular on the beat. “He doesn’t make a big to-do about it,” Turner said. “He just wants to be a regular cop."

Coincidentally Jack's dad, who writes a Dear Ozzy agony uncle column for the Sunday Times, offers the following advice today to one concerned citizen wondering whether he should carry a gun in case of a 'home invasion': "My son Jack is always telling me the same thing. He thinks I should keep a loaded gun in my nightstand, but I keep saying, 'Look, I really don't want the responsibility.' Given that I'm half deaf and easily startled, I'd end up shooting the dog."

Or then police officer Jack Osbourne might have to be called in.
