Lady Gaga has caused controversy once more, angering disability groups by performing in a wheelchair routine during a show in Australia.

The singer was performing her rumoured next single You and I. The backlash comes just a day after the Born This Way singer was egged when leaving a gay club in Sydney.

Roman Reed, a lobbyist for research on spinal cord injuries tweeted “Dear @ladygaga how about using your celebrity status 2 try 2 get us out of wheelchairs. Instead of cruising one. Cool?!”

Jesse Billauer, founder of Life Rolls On Foundation, added "since this isn't the first time she has used a wheelchair in her performances, I invite her to learn more about the 5.6 million Americans who live with paralysis. They, like me, unfortunately, don't use a wheelchair for shock value." The American foundation is a subsidiary of the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation.

It hasn't been the ideal week for the singer. Her Youtube account was also suspended for violating copyright laws. Though in better news, the ban on sales of her album in China has been lifted. She also found out that The Monster Ball, her previous album, is nominated for five Emmy Awards.

Gaga tweeted "our trip to Asia has been enlightening+promising. Stand strong!"
