Joe McElderry was crowned the winner of Popstar to Operaster on Sunday night.
The X Factor star beat out competition from rival finalist Cheryl Baker, topping the public vote to win the second series of the ITV singing contest.
The 21-year-old performed alongside Popstar to Operastar mentor Rolando Villazón and also sang a final solo piece.
When the result was announced, McElderry hugged Bucks Fizz star Baker enthusiastically.
He said to show host Myleene Klass: "I've had an absolute blast with Cheryl. I love her to bits."
Baker said that she tipped McElderry to take the title from the start: "I didn't expect to get this far and he's fantastic. I had my money on Joe from the beginning."
McElderry tweeted his delight at winning the series, writing: "Wooop!!!! We did it!!!!! Thankyou soo much to everyone that voted!!!!! Soo exited and happy!!!!!!! (sic)".
