Beyonce Knowles has spoken about her experience headlining the Glastonbury Festival 2011, saying it was the highlight of her career.

The popstar performed on the Pyramid Stage, playing a selection of songs which included her solo hits, Destiny's Child songs and covers of Kings of Leon, Prince and Alanis Morissette.

Speaking to the BBC after her set, Beyonce said: "This night was a dream. I felt like a rockstar, and the crowd, they looked like rockstars, and I'm just so honoured, really. This is... the highlight of my career."

Knowles also said that she believed her husband Jay Z's successful headlining performance in 2008 paved the way for her show.

She said: "I was able to see my husband perform here a couple of years ago and it was one of the most exciting nights for me. I don't know if I would have been asked to come if he didn't do the performance.

"I'm so happy because, you know, I don't normally do festivals and 175,000 people and... I was very nervous.

"Everyone gave me so much love and I will never, ever, ever forget this night."
