Girl Aloud star Nadine Coyle has turned to Spice Girl Mel B for advice about her solo career
Being stars in two of the biggest girl bands in the UK and Ireland Nadine Coyle and Mel B have plenty of things in common, including the fact they now both live in the States.
The pair have been firm friends of late and regularly communicate on Twitter. So it’s no wonder that Nadine has turned to Mel B for support after her solo album turned out to be a complete flop, barely making it into the top 50.
Coyle, who will apparently be recording new material with Girls Aloud next January, is determined to prove herself as a solo star first and is now planning to try and break onto the US music scene.
A source told the Daily Star Sunday: “She's desperate to prove herself outside Girls Aloud. But nobody has heard of her in the US. Mel has had reality shows and came second in Dancing with the Stars. Nadine wants that kind of success."
Coyle will have some competition from her band mate Cheryl Cole who is in talks with Jay Z about rebuilding her reputation in the States.
Jay Z said: “I keep a close eye on the music industry throughout the world and I know how hot Cheryl is in the UK.
"The US market is the toughest one to break into, but once you do it is by far the most lucrative. Cheryl has that talent to do it.”
Do you think either Girls Aloud stars could reach the top of the charts in America?
