Justin Bieber was reportedly tackled to the ground by an undercover policeman at a fragrance launch in Macy's, New York.
The popstar was at the department store to promote his new fragrance Someday, where he was speaking to a large crowd of fans waiting outside.
TMZ reports that a plains clothes officer tackled Bieber to the ground having mistaken him for a crazed fan when the crowd became unruly. The singer's security team were then alleged to have stopped him.
A bodyguard was allegedly issued with a summons for disorderly conduct.
Bieber's representative Matthew Hilzik spoke to the New York Post about the incident, saying: "It was a momentary well-intentioned misunderstanding and the event went well. He's completely fine and has no injuries."
Local news reports claimed that the singer was "shaken up" by the incident.
However, he later tweeted: "today went well at macy's.. the fans were AMAZING, thanks to all the fans who came out to support it was a breath of fresh air."
