Lord Sugar fired another hopeful on 'The Apprentice' last night leaving just eight candidates to battle it out to set up a business with him.
Engineer Glenn Ward was fired after his team failed in a magazine challenge. The 28-year-old failed to impress Lord Sugar in the boardroom who said he wasn’t prominent on the task.
Ward’s team were praised for spotting a gap in the market by designing a magazine aimed at older people but were criticised for naming it 'Hip Replacement'. Team Logic’s idea of a raunchy lads’ magazine was widely criticised for being dated but they still secured more advertising revenue. 'Hip Replacement' secured £28,500 of advertising, but Team Logic's 'Covered' won after getting £76,500.
Lord Sugar was very critical of the title of the magazine and also the content which explained technology to older people. He said he found it "condescending and idiotic."
Ward said "We didn't want a cliched title. We might have got a little bit carried away. It could have really worked, as the concept was right, but it was a mistake we lost the task."

He added "He could have fired anyone else, but it was because they defended their corner better than I did. I thought I did quite well on the task, no mistake, but I just didn't try hard enough to convince him of my abilities or my USP. I think that is where my failure was."
"I would have liked to show Lord Sugar that an engineer can do business. There are engineers who do do business quite well like James Dyson, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. I wouldn't quite compare myself to them, but I aspire to be like them."
Ward was quizzed by Dara Ó Briain on last night’s 'The Apprentice – You’re Fired' about his rumoured romance with fellow contestant Zoe Beresford. He said "I will not go into detail now. Zoe's a very good girl, and a strong person. We are good friends and I will stay friends with her."
