Paula Abdul has claimed that she and Cheryl Cole "forged a wonderful relationship" on US X Factor.
The chemistry between the two was the subject of much speculation while they were both judges.
Cole, 27, has subsequently been replaced on the show by Nicole Scherzinger, 32.
Paula Abdul took to her Twitter page yesterday to set the record straight saying: "Cheryl is amazing. We have forged a wonderful friendship & have been & will continue to stay in touch."
She further stated: "I'm excited for everyone to see and hear what she is about to do next."
