The BBC has commissioned 14 new episodes of 'Doctor Who', but it has not been decided how many will air in 2012.
The Guardian reports that the announcement follows a report in Private Eye which claimed that the producers of the show, BBC Wales, had proposed to make four specials instead of a full series in 2012.
The Guardian quotes a BBC spokesman as saying: "The new commission is a big commitment, not many other shows have such a commitment so far in advance. We do not know yet how many will air in 2012."
