Take That star and ‘X Factor’ judge Gary Barlow has said that Cheryl Cole has “turned a corner” and is “going places” since she was axed from the US version of the show.
Singer and songwriter Barlow, 40, who is good friends with the star since their 2009 charity trek up Kilimanjaro, said she was recovering after being fired.
According to the Daily Mail, he said: "I think she has turned a corner now. I would say she is going places. She's an ambitious girl and she'll get over this, no question."
The 27-year-old singer is still in hiding after flying home from Los Angeles last week, but Barlow said that she had wished him luck as he prepared to take over from Simon Cowell as a judge on the talent show.
Louis Walsh, 58, added: "She's fine. There's no bitterness there, not with me anyway."
The pair spoke as they kicked off the auditions with fellow judges Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland in Birmingham.
Meanwhile, Cole was urged to cash in on her exit with a huge US music launch.
Her American manager Will.i.am thinks she can have a No 1 by Christmas and has suggested reality TV to boost her profile.
A source said: "Cheryl was concerned but now is the best time because of all the interest in her surrounding her departure."
