The judges for the British version of 'The X Factor' have reportedly been announced.

Digital Spy reports that the judges for the new series will be Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh.

It is reported that Cheryl Cole will not return to her old job as a judge on 'The X Factor' in the UK, because she is not ready to go back to work following her departure from the US version of the show.

The Sun reports that auditions for the series begin in the UK on Wednesday, with a source telling the paper: "She just isn't in the right state of mind at the moment to go headfirst into a new show.

"She's all over the place - emotionally she's very fragile.

"Starting filming on Wednesday would be far too soon."

Elsewhere, The Daily Mail reports that TV executives in the UK have withdrawn their offer to Cole to return to the British series.

The paper alleges that she has been 'uncontactable' since her departure from the US show.

A "TV source" told the paper: "That's it. Cheryl will not be returning to the British 'X Factor'.

"People have been trying to speak to her and persuade her this would be a good idea, but she's been uncontactable.

"She hasn't returned phone calls. And you can't exactly negotiate with someone who won't even speak to you."

As speculation continues about Cole's departure from the American series, a source told The Mirror that Cole felt lonely, homesick and "stressed out" over her work commitments.

The source said: "Cheryl wasn't in the right frame of mind to commit to such a big project like The US 'X Factor' and it has ended up making her feel even worse after being rejected.

"Agreeing to be on the panel has turned out to be a huge mistake."
