Paula Abdul says she has no idea whether or not Cheryl Cole has been dropped from 'The X Factor USA'.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Cheryl Cole had been dropped from the judging panel of the reality show and replaced by host Nicole Scherzinger. But judge Paula Abdul claims that because she has been travelling the last few days she has yet to be informed of any changes to the show's judging panel.

"This is all news to me," the former 'American Idol' judge told Xin MSN. "This apparently has captured the news while I was travelling so I'm just finding out things as you are."

"I don't know whether this is true," she continued. "You probably know more than I do."

However, she added that she hopes to continue building a friendship with Cole regardless of her position on the show.

Cheryl has already been tipped to join new BBC One talent show 'The Voice' following her reported departure from 'The X Factor USA'.

According to reports, a source from the singer's record company Universal disclosed that: "Universal are heavily involved in recruiting judges for 'The Voice' when it moves to the BBC and they are urging Cheryl to be the big star of that show."

"It would be a fresh start for her and would mean she could work with people who she trusts and who have her best interests at heart. It would also be a great way of sticking two fingers up at Simon Cowell."

Reports are also claiming that the hit singer will receive her complete $1.2million US 'X Factor' fee – despite being fired after just four days work. Nice work if you can get it!
