Gordon Ramsay's father-in-law, Chris Hutcheson, reportedly fathered a second family he hid for decades.

According to the Telegraph the details of his private life emerged in the Daily Mail and The Sun after he failed in a bid to obtain an injunction to gag the press in a privacy case involving his family.

Ramsay's 62-year-old father-in-law, whose daughter Tana has been married to the celebrity chef for 12 years, is said to have fathered two children with Frances Collins.

Last October Hutcheson, 62, was sacked as Chief Executive of Ramsay's restaurant empire.

However, Ramsay wrote an open-letter to his mother-in-law Greta a month later, pleading with her not to punish Tana for the family feud caused by Hutcheson's exit.

In the letter, he accused her husband of running the company like a "dictator".

He also proceeded to explain that he had grown suspicious of Hutcheson's "complex life" and revealed that he had "employed a private detective" in order to "curb my suspicions".

He added: "The very complex life Chris leads has seen many of my key staff feeling they have had to cover on his behalf. His away days were rarely what I thought."

Ramsay is said to have only made Tana aware of what he had discovered after Hutcheson left the company.
