New 'EastEnders' star Ace Bhatti has said members of the public have taken him to task over the behaviour of his character, Yusef Khan, in the BBC soap.
In an interview in the new issue of Inside Soap magazine Bhatti says that fans of the show also have a nickname for him.
"Well, Yusef does have more bad qualities than good. Fans call me 'Dr Evil'," he says.
"A couple of women have come up and told me that I'm a bad man."
Bhatti says he has some sympathy for the character.
"He's very insecure," says the actor. "Zainab [Masood, first wife played by Nina Wadia] left him when he was 17 and it brought shame on him and his family. I can understand his behaviour in some ways."
