X Factor's Paula Abdul steals the spotlight from Cheryl Cole again as the new judging panel and hosts step out together for the first time.
The stars of the talent show came out in force for Fox's upfront presentation of its 2011-2012 TV schedule, which was held in New York City last night. And while Cheryl looked perfectly demure, she was up-staged yet again by a more adventurous Paula Abdul who is 21 years her senior.
Abdul looked nowhere near her 48 years with her glowing skin and daring red shift dress. While Cheryl failed to impress in an orange Giambattista Valli high-necked dress finished off with a pair of white t-bar stilettos and strings of Vivienne Westwood pearls.

For someone who is trying to make an impression on American audiences, Cheryl's Giambattista Valli dress was way too conservative and safe.

It also seems as if Cheryl has lost her position as Simon's pet as the music mogul was clearly smitten to be working with Paula Abdul again.

The big boss certainly seemed in playful form!
Last night's event marked the first time the whole U.S. 'X Factor' team had been photographed together.

The four four judges - which also includes music producer LA Reid - joined co-hosts Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger at the Fox event, the channel which will air the show come September.
It was also a flat night for 32-year-old 'X Factor' co-presenter Nicole Scherzinger, who failed to dazzle in a black, bell-shaped zip dress.
