It has been announced that over 1m viewers watched Jedward qualify on RTÉ Two on Thursday night for the Eurovision Song Contest Final.
Reacting to the news, Jedward said: "It's crazy, we can't believe over a million people watched us perform. We really want to do this for Ireland. We can't thank all of our fans and RTÉ enough. We want the whole of Europe to know how brilliant Ireland is."
The audience on RTÉ Two for Thursday night's semi-final peaked at 1.135m* viewers on average between 9.45pm and 10pm when it was announced that Jedward had qualified.
Over 1m viewers** on average watched the show between 9.15pm and 9.30pm when Jedward performed 'Lipstick'.
Overall, 757,700*** watched the whole two-hour show on average, with 1.68m reached**** across the duration of the programme.
This compares to an average viewership of 440,400 for the second semi-final in which Ireland competed last year.
Jedward will be the sixth act to perform on Saturday night's final, which will be broadcast live on RTÉ One, RTÉ Radio 1, www.rte.ie/live and www.rte.ie/player from 8pm.
