‘Coronation Street's Betty Driver is said to be in "good spirits" as she recovers in hospital from a suspected case of pneumonia.
The actress, who has played Betty Williams in the soap for 42 years, was admitted to an undisclosed hospital in Greater Manchester earlier this week.
Sources told the Daily Express that the much-loved 90-year-old actress is "in good spirits" as she is carefully treated.
The Sun reports that Driver won't leave hospital until 'at least' the weekend, with an insider adding: "She's a feisty old thing and is battling like a woman half her age."
Daran Little, a former writer on the show, also told followers on Twitter: "Spoke to Betty Driver, she sounds as chirpy as ever. Keep those positive thoughts going."
Driver, who received treatment for a chest infection last April, took a look back at her showbiz career during an ITV special earlier this year.
