Irish actress Saoirse Ronan has landed a key role in the latest Hollywood adaptation of a Stephenie Meyer novel.
The 17-year-old has been cast as Melanie, a young woman whose mind is besieged by a parasitic alien, in the film adaptation of The Host, a Stephenie Meyer book that’s not about vampires.
The bestselling sci-fi novel follows Melanie and Wanderer, an extraterrestrial ‘soul’ that has taken over her brain, as they experience a kind of paranormal Stockholm Syndrome.
