Aretha Franklin has revealed a slimmer figure.
The singer, who is due to release a new album next month, made a TV appearance on The View this week 85lbs lighter after undergoing surgery five months ago.
Franklin confirmed that the operation was behind her weight loss, but would not reveal why she was initially hospitalised. She did, however, insist that she did not have "Bariatric surgery".
According to the Huffington Post Franklin stated that: I feel wonderful, I've got more energy, I've changed my diet, going to Whole Foods now, getting the best stuff. Dropped the chitlins, drop the ham hocks, getting some - I won't say better food, I'll say other food."
She also gave some advice to women who are in failing relationships, saying: "Don't sit at home by the telephone. Put on a happy face because it ain't going to rain. Men rarely sit at home when it's over. They are out and they are looking and checking, and you should get out and be happy and do the same."
It was reported late last year that Franklin had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but she refused to discuss her condition.
