Kate Middleton’s wedding dress has been revealed after months of speculation.
The 29-year-old arrived at Westminster Abbey wearing a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen creation. The ivory and white satin dress was finished off with a tiara and an elegant train.
Middleton worked closely with Burton to create the lace design and apparently requested that the dress had a mixture of traditional and modern elements.
Dress designer Sarah Burton said: "It has been the experience of a lifetime to work with Catherine Middleton to create her wedding dress, and I have enjoyed every moment of it."
According to Digital Spy, the lace was hand-engineered by the Royal School of Needlework.
Her Cartier tiara was personally lent to her by the Queen and she also wore diamond-set- oak leaf earrings, which were made to echo her headpiece.
Pippa Middleton, Kate's sister and only bridesmaid, also wore a McQueen gown.
Her dress is already being compared to Princess Grace of Monaco’s whose design was quite similar.
