Simon Cowell has yet to confirm whether Cheryl Cole and Paula Abdul will join him on the US X Factor. "It's still playing out," a spokesperson for Cowell told The Hollywood Reporter. "Nothing is set, and Paula is one of many people Simon is talking to. He's said the same thing many times, including on the radio last week. There's nothing new."
Apart from Abdul, with whom Cowell worked on American Idol, Cheryl Cole has also been regularly mentioned in dispatches in recent weeks. The discussions have been ongoing since last October. But Cowell has spiced up proceedings in recent times by mentioning a number of other intriguing contenders including George Michael, former Pussycats Dolls singer, Nicole Scherzinger, and Mariah Carey, for the Fox produced show which debuts this autumn.
