Ryan Tubridy confirmed today that talks are taking place concerning a possible radio slot with the BBC. Responding to a report in today’s Irish Examiner on his 2fm show the popular presenter said "It’s talk" but then added "it’s real talk."
Tubridy joked that the piece on the front page of today’s Examiner felt like an obituary but moved to reassure his listeners by saying "I’m here and I love it and I'm really happy and I won't be going anywhere today or tomorrow."
An RTÉ spokesman said "Ryan is looking forward to another season of The Late Late Show for 2011/2012 and continuing with his popular 2fm radio show as well."
His brother, Garrett, jokingly tweeted to him this morning saying "congratulations on the gig with the beeb. If you are moving to London, can I take your car?"
