'Only Fools and Horses' star David Jason is making a brand new comedy series for the BBC called 'The Royal Bodyguard'.
The series follows the misadventures of Captain Guy Hubble (Jason), a soon-to-retire soldier whose previous posting was in the Buckingham Palace car park but who is put in charge of security for the British Royal family after a "terrible misunderstanding".
Danny Cohen, Controller, BBC One, said: "I am absolutely delighted to welcome David Jason back to a leading comedy role on BBC One.
"When I read the script I knew he would be perfect for this role."
'The Royal Bodyguard' begins production in July.
