Cowell - Simon's earnings are revealed

Simon Cowell is making new stars of the likes of Alexandra Burke, 22, Cher Lloyd, 17, Matt Cardle, 27, and US singer Jackie Evancho, 11 and he is earning millions along the way.

The Sun reports that the company behind 'The X Factor' and both 'Britain's and America's Got Talent', Simco, earns an amazing £128k (€144k) a day.

Simco, founded by the 51-year-old music mogul in 2002, made £32.4m (€36m) in just nine months up to December 2009, new figures reveal.

The X Factor judge, who once said: "I'm interested only in making money, for myself and the people I work for" is now estimated to be worth £165m (€185).

Cowell sold Simco to Sony BMG for £43m in 2005 and he received a cut of the profits as a salary and the latest figures reportedly show that the firm made 155% more than it did in the same period the year before.

Insiders are saying that the reason for this is the "Boyle Factor" because the 'Britain's Got Talent' star Susan shot to fame in April 2009 after appearing on the show and she has gone on to sell over 14m albums.

Since then Cowell has set up a company called Syco Entertainment Limited, which he co-owns with Sony BMG and reports indicate that he will be a billionaire within six years.

The firm owns all of the existing Simco television and music assets, which include global TV franchises 'The X Factor' and 'Got Talent' as well as artists such as Leona Lewis, Boyle and Il Divo.

The star has denied claims that he told ITV chiefs, who have offered to pay for a private jet to whisk him across the Atlantic each week, that he will not be a judge on 'The X Factor' in the UK.
