Hart to Hart actress Stephanie Powers has just published her autobiography, which details her stuggle with cancer
In 'One from the Hart', the 68-year-old American television star also recalls her love affairs as a young actress and reveals how she dealt with the death of her mother, as well as her own battle with cancer. The memoir was released in the United States last November.
"The book was motivated by two life changing events,"Stephanie told Mail Online. "One was the death of my mother, last year and the second, on the heels of her death was the discovery of my own lung cancer. These two events sort of made me reflect on many things. "
Powers puts her survival down to regular doctors' visits. "I was very, very fortunate because of early detection and it’s something I preached to everyone because early detection is everything .'
One from the Hart also recalls her love affair with Sunset Boulevard actor William Holden. They were a couple for nine years, but never actually married. Holden, who was reputedly an alcoholic, died in 1981.
