Former ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Katherine Heigl is set to return to the small screen as a grieving mother in the HBO adaptation of ‘The Knitting Circle’.
Heigl quit the medical drama to concentrate on a movie career, but in this latest move she’s going to be a producer as well as a leading lady.
Based on the best-selling book by Ann Hood, Knitting Circle revolves around a married woman (Heigl) struggling to overcome the death of her young daughter who joins a knitting circle.
Heigl will produce the telepic with her mother and producing partner, Nancy Heigl. Her recent credits include the feature 'Life As We Know It', which she starred in and executive produced.
