Clive Owen is set to star in a new spy thriller which is set during the peace process in Northern Ireland in the 90s.

The film is based on the novel 'Shadow Dancer' by Tom Bradby, and will be helmed by 'Man On Wire' director James Marsh, reports website Movieweb.

Marsh told the site: "It's a genre film, it's a thriller. It's very exciting to be doing something like that now, to have that kind of canvas to fill."

Andrea Riseborough will play the female lead - former IRA terrorist turned MI5 informer Colette McVeigh.

Also starring in the movie will be 'Love/Hate' actor Aidan Gillen and 'X Files' actress Gillian Anderson.

'Shadow Dancer' will begin production in and around Dublin in May, although it is likely to be released with a different title.

Marsh said: "It's sort of between titles right now. I don't think it's quite the right title. It sounds a bit like Billy Elliot or something like that."
