It has been reported that Take That star Gary Barlow and pop diva Lily Allen have been approached to join 'The X Factor' as judges.
Ahead of a comprehensive overhaul of the reality TV show, ITV bosses have reportedly stated that Barlow and Allen will join incumbents Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue on the panel.
The main man, Simon Cowell, will return to the show but only for the live programmes which feature five judges as opposed to the usual quartet. It is also believed that Cheryl Cole, who is hoping to make a new career in the US, will not return for the next season of the show which premieres in August.
ITV boss Peter Fincham told The Mail on Sunday: "We will announce plans for the panel when we are ready. But what I can tell you at this stage is that the new series of The X Factor will be very new and very different from what we have seen before."
