The writer of 'Downton Abbey' is creating a new TV drama about the sinking of the Titanic to mark its centenary next year.
Oscar-winner Julian Fellowes is scripting the drama for ITV which will begin filming in the spring and will be screened around the world next year, reports the Press Association.
The drama is set to tell the story of the passengers on the unsinkable ship which went down in April 1912 after hitting an iceberg. The story will be screened as either two 90-minute films or four one-hour episodes according to ITV.
It is being filmed in Hungary and will also be screened by ABC in the US and Channel Seven in Australia.
ITV said it would include "mystery and romantic plot lines and featuring fictional and historical characters."
Fellowes’s recent hit for ITV 'Downton Abbey' opened with the characters finding out the Titanic had been sunk.
