Cheryl Cole’s dreams of joining the 'US X Factor' judging panel have been dashed once again according to Derek Hough’s step-dad.
Speculation has been rife for weeks now that Cheryl Cole has missed out on joining Simon Cowell as a judge on the 'US X Factor' and it would now seem that this rumour is true.
Cheryl has been in the US for the last number of weeks, staying with her close friend Derek Hough. His step-dad Aaron Nelson has, according to The Sun, let it slip that she has not bagged the coveted spot. He said; "She didn't get the X Factor job. Our heart goes out to her."
Nelson continued; "Showbiz is always competitive, everyone wants to do well. It's so tough for her."
Hough’s step-dad also commented on the rumoured romance between Cole and Hough saying; "We trust Derek and Cheryl's judgment and if they decide to stay together for a long time then good, but we can't say how long it will go on for."
"I believe you can't make people love you – it's a voluntary thing. Right now she's with Derek."
