'Home and Away' stalwart Lynne McGranger has said the only way she will leave the Australian soap is "in a box".
The actress, who has played Irene Roberts since 1992, was asked by TV Week if she had ever considered leaving the soap.
She replied: "Honestly, no - I wouldn't have stayed in this long if I was miserable. They will carry me out in a box!
"If another job came my way, I think I'd do what Ray's [Meagher, co-star who plays Alf Stewart] done in going to London to do 'Priscilla, Queen of the Desert'. I love my job."
McGranger described her character as "a rough diamond with a heart of gold".
"Her journey over the past 20 years has been enormous," she said. "Possibly the only thing missing in Irene's life is true love. She hasn't had a lot of success - every time she gets involved with a guy, he ends up dead or in prison!"
