Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding has changed her engagement ring as she wanted something that was “more unusual”.
When DJ Tom Crane asked Sarah Harding to be his wife in a romantic proposal in the Maldives on New Year’s Eve, the singer was over the moon. She said yes and that she was delighted to wear the sapphire and diamond ring he picked for her.
Crane said at the time; “There we were, about to see in a new year in the most romantic place I've ever visited and we spot this beautiful ring. I figured it was fate. I had been thinking about proposing for a while, but I wanted to make sure everything was perfect."
But just 3 months after accepting the huge rock the pop star has had it redesigned according Contact Music. Crane said; “I knew Sarah wanted a central sapphire with diamonds but the original ring, although beautiful, wasn't as unusual as she wanted.”
Harding added; “We sent it off to be blinged up - a sort of ‘pimp my ring’. The jeweller added more diamonds and changed the shape of the sapphire slightly. The original ring was the perfect foundation - I just wanted it to be more unique.”
