Troubled star Charlie Sheen has sung the praises of the Los Angeles police department after they visited his home earlier today. Sheen dismissed reports that they were searching for firearms and drugs claiming the officers were there to protect him.

Writing on Twitter he said "All good here on homefront. All reports are false. I'll explain more very soon" adding "The LAPD were AWESOME. Absolute pros! they can protect and serve this Warlock anytime!"

Reports on TMZ claimed the officers carried out a pre-planned raid on his mansion searching for firearms and ammunition. People.com reported that there had been no 911 call to prompt the visit.

Meanwhile it is reported that Sheen and his estranged wife Brooke Mueller have agreed a deal regarding the custody of their 23-month-old twins, Bob and Max. Lawyer for Sheen told RadarOnline.com that "Brooke and Charlie have reached an agreement that resolves their differences" adding "For the benefit of the children, the terms of their agreement will not be disclosed."

Elsewhere Sheen’s 'Two and a Half Men' co-star Jon Cryer appeared on Conan O’Brien’s show and made light of Sheen’s criticism of him earlier this week. Sheen dubbed the actor "a troll" earlier this week for failing to contact him since his difficulties began, however he later backtracked and issued a half apology to Cryer.

Cryer appeared choked up while chatting to Conan before saying "The fact is, I am a troll" and a troll picture of him appeared on screen.
