Irish actor Brían F O'Byrne has been cast in the new US version of the award-winning British thriller series 'Prime Suspect'.
The remake sees former 'ER' star Maria Bello playing Detective Jane Timoney, a character based on Helen Mirren's Jane Tennison in the original Granada Television series.
Deadline reports that O'Byrne will play a detective who prevented Timoney from working cases.
O'Byrne's other TV credits include the series 'FlashForward' and 'Brotherhood'.
