It has been announced that a new documentary about Oscar winners Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová's band The Swell Season will receive its world premiere and also compete at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
Directed by Nick August-Perna, Chris Dapkins and Carlo Mirabella-Davis, 'The Swell Season' will be screened as part of the 'Viewpoints' programme at the festival, which runs from 20 April to 1 May.
The description of the film on the Tribeca website reads: "The world fell in love with Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová when their songwriting collaboration in the film 'Once' culminated in a jubilant Oscar win.
"But behind the scenes, where Glen and Mar's on-screen romance became reality, a grueling [sic] two-year world tour threatens to fracture their fated bond.
"Gorgeously filmed in black and white, this music-filled documentary is an intimate look at the exhilaration and turmoil created by both love and fame."
