Christina Aguilera and her boyfriend Matthew Rutler were arrested in the early hours of this morning, according to the Daily Mail. The newspaper reports the 30-year-old singer and her boyfriend had been on a night out in Los Angeles, and were taken to the West Hollywood Sheriff's station at 2.45am.
Christina was booked for public intoxication, while Matthew Rutler was charged with driving under the influence. TMZ reports that the star was 'extremely intoxicated' and 'unable to take care of herself.'
Lawyers are currently arranging her release on $250 bail. The LA County Sheriff's Department has set Rutler's bail at $30,000.
Things haven't being going so well for the mother-of-one recently who had to apologise after fluffing the lyrics to the American national anthem during the Super Bowl in February. She then tripped and fell while taking part in a glitzy tribute to Aretha Franklin at the Grammy Awards on February 13.
Aguilera started going out with Rutler last November, two months after splitting from her husband of five years, Jordan Bratman. The couple had met months earlier on the set of Aguilera's movie 'Burlesque', which also starred Cher.
