Pop stars Rihanna and Ciara have become embroiled in a vicious war of words on Twitter.
The insults started flying over the weekend after Ciara claimed on E!’s ‘Fashion Police’ that the ‘Only Girl in the World’ singer had ignored her when they crossed paths at a party.
“I ran into her recently at a party,” she said on the show hosted by Joan Rivers. “She wasn't the nicest. It's crazy, because I've always loved and respected what she's done in fashion. It wasn't the most pleasant run-in.”
Never one to stay quiet, Rihanna was quick to respond, tweeting: “My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u? U gangsta huh? Haaa. [sic]”
Ciara, 25, replied: “Trust me Rihanna you don't want to see me on or off the stage.”
At which Rihanna laughed: “Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of. [sic]”
“Pure comedy,” responded Ciara.
After about an hour of verbally tearing shreds out of each other, the two singers, who have been photographed together many times in the past, decided to call a truce, with Rihanna being the first one to wave the white flag, saying: “Ciara baby, I love u girl! U hurt my feelings real bad on TV! I'm heartbroken! That's y I retaliated this way! So sorry! [sic]”
To which Ciara responded: “Rhi, u know its always been love since day 1! Doing shows and everything. You threw me off in that party! Apology accepted. Let's chat in person. [sic]”
And peace reigns once again over the land of celebrities – for now!
