Following a dramatic image change for the teen idol, Justin Bieber gave away his locks to charity on Ellen DeGeneres' television chat show after a haircut that divided his legions of fans.
The teenage singer signed the box that the hair was safely kept in and which has already raised thousands at auction, a single lock of hair has reached €4,600 on ebay!
Bieber claimed on the show not to care what people thought of his new hairdo, although judging by the reaction on Twitter, it was not popular - 80,000 fans opted to 'unfollow' their idol.
Fans discovered his new look when Jay DeMarcus, whose band Rascal Flatt filmed a music video with Bieber posted this pic on Twitter.
After getting the haircut he suffered another blow by picking up a ‘Least Stylish’ and ‘Worst Album’ at the NME awards.
However, backing did come from an unusual source when Kim Kardashian declared that the look was ‘really cute.’
Bieber's hairstylist Vanessa Price, when asked what prompted the change, said: “Cutting your hair is just part of the evolution and growing process for anyone, and I think he was just ready."
