'EastEnders' star Glynis Barber has been speaking about the emotional trauma that lies ahead for her character, Glenda Mitchell.

Warning: spoiler alert!

The actress said that Glenda would be "devastated" when daughter Roxy (Rita Simons) turns against her.

Glenda persuades Roxy to break into former lover Phil Mitchell's (Steve McFadden) house to steal the money he stole from the younger woman.

However, Phil returns home and accuses Glenda of stealing Roxy's money in the first instance.

When money is later found in Glenda's home, Roxy believes Phil's story.

Actress Barber told Inside Soap: "Glenda doesn't think that Roxy will take Phil's word over hers, so she's devastated when she does.

"It makes no sense - Glenda is broke, so why would she leave a pile of money in her bedroom cupboard?

"She instantly knows that Phil planted the cash there. Glenda's so hurt that Roxy believes him instead of her."

Glenda subsequently reveals the truth about her affair with Phil in front of his partner Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) and other locals in the Queen Vic.
