Kelly Brook - "As long as you keep yourself out of trouble there's only so much the press can say and do to really affect your life"

Harry Guerin: You're the star of the new Lynx campaign. What's it all about?
Kelly Brook:
It's called 'Fallen Angel' and it's an online campaign that's on Facebook. It's all about me being an archangel in heaven and trying to get to earth. I need the perfect man to bring me to earth! You have to put your details up there [on Facebook] and we say 'yes' or 'no'.

HG: So who sorts the wheat from the chaff?
KB:
[Laughs] All my angels! I've got a whole crew at angel headquarters!

HG: So what's the prize? Does the winner get to meet you?
KB:
Once I've found the man, I'll come to earth and land on your street, have a dream about you, say your name, write love hearts with my name and your name on the mirror - all sorts of things!

HG: So you'll actually arrive at the fella's house?
KB:
Yes!

HG: You've been associated with Lynx for a long time.
KB:
I did a campaign with them about four years ago in Miami, so I was really happy to come back and do some more.

HG: You're like the fairy godmother of Lynx.
KB:
[Laughs] I lost my crown to Keeley Hazell for five minutes but I fought hard and got it back!

HG: Did you ever think that Lynx should do a fragrance for women?
KB:
It would be a good idea, wouldn't it? They should do a fragrance for women that you spray on and your chest grows or something! I think that'd go down well!

HG: Speaking of chests, you've designed bras for charity.
KB:
My friend Debbie Chazen, who I was in 'Calendar Girls' with, is working a lot with a breast cancer charity. She sent all her friends these bras that we had to decorate and design. She actually got breast cancer while we were doing 'Calendar Girls' and she had to withdraw from the production. But she's now completely on the mend and doing really well. It's a nice thing for us to do.

HG: Who are your favourite designers?
KB:
My favourite designer is probably [Azzedine] Alaia. I love Giles Deacon; I got to walk in his show during Fashion Week which was an incredible experience. There was every super model imaginable; it was amazing and such a buzz. I love Gina Shoes; they're so beautiful and elegant and classy. Day-to-day stuff, I like J Brand Jeans, little Marc Jacobs jumpers - just like normal stuff, really, nothing too glam for day-to-day. It's good to mix high street and designer and vintage. I'm a big fan of vintage stuff.

HG: What's coming up for you acting wise?
KB:
At the moment I'm just busy working with Lynx on this campaign. We've just done a still shoot where they made me these giant wings and had me landing on the bonnet of a car. The new ad is fantastic - it looks like 'Armageddon' or something!

HG: Any plans to do more theatre work?
KB:
Yes, I had a read through before Christmas for this new play that the producer of 'Calendar Girls' wants to do. I got to sit with June Brown and Jerry Hall. He got together a group of really funny actresses and we all sat around and read a rough version of the script. We had a real good time. Hopefully that's going to be a new project for 2011.

HG: Do you think you have any unfinished business with a role in a soap?
KB:
No, I don't think so. I don't really get a chance to watch that much TV so no. The thing is I really struggle with commitments, so committing myself to six months to a year in a soap opera... I don't think it would suit my lifestyle. A few days working on a project is enough for me and then I get bored and am ready to move on and do something else. The way I've got things going at the moment suits my lifestyle a lot better.

HG: It always seems like you'd give anything a go project-wise. Anything you'd really like to do, like climb a mountain?
KB:
I don't know if I'm that adventurous, really. My cousin just climbed Kilimanjaro and I thought he was going to propose to his girlfriend at the top but they ended up breaking up! That was a bit unfortunate! I don't know; I never really have any big dreams or ambitions to do anything like that. I love flying around the world doing what I do - that keeps me so busy.

HG: How about New Year's resolutions then?
KB:
I was going to cut out caffeine - tea and coffee - and I don't think I've had one day of being able to achieve it!

HG: You seem to take the fame and showbiz thing in your stride.
KB:
I think it comes from time, really. I think if you work consistently and build good relationships with people... As long as you keep yourself out of trouble there's only so much the press can say and do to really affect your life. I just have confidence. I'm always professional and turn up on time and do my job. That's me, really. It's important to keep a sense of reality.
