There is speculation that heiress Paris Hilton may soon announce that she and boyfriend Cy Waits are engaged.
A source told People magazine that the couple were seen in the jewellery shop Jacob & Co in New York on Friday.
"They shopped for engagement rings," the source said. "They were really cute together. Paris was making comments about the rings and joking that her ring has to be at least 24 carats."
The couple reportedly did not buy an engagement ring but chose a "$25,000 white gold and black diamond encrusted ring" instead.
A representative of Hilton's said: "The couple were shopping in New York looking for something special for Paris' 30th birthday."
