The RTÉ Guide Best TV Moment of 2010 was revealed at the IFTA Awards last night and The Republic of Telly’s premiere of The Rubber Bandits’ ‘Horse Oustide’ was voted as the winner.
The ‘People’s Choice Award’ was the only IFTA award voted for by the public and offered TV viewers the opportunity to decide what has been the TV Moment of 2010.
The final shortlist of ten top TV moments (below) was decided by an independent judging panel which included; best-selling author Cecelia Ahern; radio and MTV Presenter Laura Whitmore; television broadcaster Ray D’Arcy; international rugby star Tommy Bowe; the RTÉ Guide’s own Michael Doherty and IFTA CEO Áine Moriarty.
That shortlist was then narrowed down by the public to a final three which was revealed last night to include 'The Rescue of the Chilean Miners', 'Coronation Street's Tram Crash and the eventual winners, 'The Republic of Telly's premiere of The Rubber Bandits' 'Horse Outside'.
