Simon Cowell has announced that the winner of the US version of 'The X Factor' will receive a recording contract worth $5m.
In a new video posted on the show's website, Cowell says he wants to make the series "bigger and better" than anything fans have seen before and promises the US version will be "more fun, more extreme, more exciting".
"If you win this competition, I'm going to put my money where my mouth is: it's a $5m recording contract," he says. "That means the winner walks away with $5m, guaranteed."
