Hollyoaks femme fatale Jennifer Metcalfe broke down in tears as she was voted off Dancing On Ice tonight.

Host Phillip Schofield said it was a "shock result" while judge Emma Bunton said neither the actress nor rapper Vanilla Ice should have been in the skate-off.

But the public vote left them in the bottom two and it was the American who secured all three of the judges' decisions.

Metcalfe, who wore a sparkly black leotard as she skated to Cher's ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’, was visibly upset at exiting the show.

The 27-year-old said she wanted to progress for the sake of her professional partner Sylvain Longchambon.

"I can't really speak. I just wanted to get further for him. He's put so much time into me," she said.

In making his decision to save the US rapper - who wore gold and electric blue as he skated to Elvis Presley's Blue Suede Shoes - judge Robin Cousins said: "I didn't expect to see either of you two here for at least another two weeks."

Bunton added: "Neither of you two should have been in the bottom two."

Earlier in the Las Vegas-themed show skating coach Karen Barber and judge Jason Gardiner had a heated argument over the performance of soldier Johnson Beharry.

The row spilled over to the results show, with Gardiner saying: "I would like to say that I overstepped the mark and I said something that I wasn't proud of in the heat of the moment. But I do wish that you would listen to what we are saying and not be so over-emotional with your responses."

Barber replied: "You have said more than enough tonight. You're a nasty nasty man, you really are."
